English Teachers Participate in “Webinar” on Audio Books.

15 Chadian English teachers -- coming from the national teaching college, language centers, and secondary schools in N’Djamena – were part of a 90 minute webinar (an electronic, web-based seminar: web + seminar = webinar!) that took place August 8 at the American embassy.  The webinar’s topic covered the use of audio books in the classroom, as both a teaching tool and student resource.  Led by a specialist in the State Department’s Office of English Teaching, the Chadian webinar participants joined colleagues and peers from the Philippines, Senegal, Poland and other countries to explore all the teaching possibilities and limitations of audio books in the classroom.  Though their schools are closed for the summer, these English language teachers are determined to keep abreast of innovations and methods in their field by attending such programs as this webinar.
