Evacuation Update

The U.S. Embassy requests that all American citizens still in N’Djamena who would like to be evacuated should prepare to depart immediately, and identify themselves to the French military, who will retrieve American citizens to escort them to the airport.
The U.S. Embassy is relocating operations and personnel to the N’Djamena airport and is temporarily unable to receive phone calls.

American citizens who decide to remain in N’Djamena should closely monitor news media and the U.S. Embassy’s website: http://ndjamena.usembassy.gov/warden_messages.html. American citizens in Chad are urged to keep family and friends in the United States apprised of their whereabouts.
