Book Donation Doubles Library Collection in Bardaï
At the suggestion of an American residing in Bardai, the U.S. Embassy donated a small collection of books in Arabic, French, and English to the Community Center Library in that far northern town of Chad. 75 books – a sampling of titles from the Nouveaux Horizons books-in-French collection as well as its special English-language primers, Arabic and English editions of the IIP Outline series, and primary school books published by Scholastic – nearly doubled the Center’s library collection, especially its Arabic and English-language holdings. The donated books were selected to be of interest to young readers wanting to improve their English comprehension, as well as professionals and officials wishing to know more about the United States.
