2012 Campaign issues and controversies

On Tuesday, October 2, a 90-minute DVC program with ARS Paris titled “2012 Campaign Issues and Controversies” brought together 37 participants in the Embassy’s conference room.  The speaker, Edward Errante, a law professor and lawyer based in Paris, briefly explained the U.S. electoral process before listing keys issues such as the economy, the social welfare, the fight against terrorism, etc. that mark this year’s electoral campaign.  The Q&A session that followed the presentation enabled the enthusiastic audience members to ask several questions, ranging from U.S. domestic policy to foreign policy and the probable winner of the November 6 elections.  The participants were so interested in the exchanges that the program could have gone on for several hours if time had permitted.

The DVC was part of a series of programs organized by the U.S. Embassy’s Public Affairs Section to mark the 2012 electoral campaign. Photo gallery
