The U.S. Embassy alerts the American Community of the following:
A pro Government march has been scheduled for tomorrow morning, from 0800 to 1200. The demonstrators are expected to gather at the Hotel de Ville (on Felix Eboue between the Embassy and the UNICEF building) and march to the Place d’Independence (directly across from the Presidential Palace). The number of expected demonstrators is unknown at this time. No anti Western violence is anticipated.
All American citizens are advised to avoid the areas mentioned above and to exercise caution when traveling in N’Djamena tomorrow. Citizens are further advised to avoid large crowds and to monitor their radios for future updates.
