Information Resource Center (IRC): The mission of the center is to provide comprehensive and reliable information on all aspects of the United States -- including foreign policy, economy, history, culture, society and values - to both the Chadian community and Embassy personnel.
The Public Affairs Section of the US Embassy in Chad conducts outreach programs and provide information on the US Government and institutions through a collection of over 400 reference volumes, a collection of CD-ROMs, videocassettes and several on-line databases for research purposes.
In addition to general information the IRC also actively promotes such issues as democracy and human rights, free and independent media, economic reform, and understanding of U.S. society and values through outreach to key Chadian decision-makers. We are progressively moving toward replacing paper-based resources with electronic ones, keeping in mind Chad's technological development.
