Alumni Given “Sitrep” on 2012 U.S. Elections
Members of the U.S. - Chadian Alumni Association participated in an ARS-Paris digital video conference about the American elections on Wednesday afternoon, September 19, at the embassy. The Alumni (an association of Chadians who’ve participated in U.S. government academic and visitor programs) were given a “situation report” about the 2012 electoral campaigns underway in the United States by American lawyer and “Democrats Abroad France” executive committee member Chip Steward. He gave the alumni audience his take on the U.S. presidential candidates’ platforms and poll ratings, voter concerns in swing states, and the political issues dominating this week’s media campaign coverage. A veteran of political campaigns and partisan party rivalries, Mr. Seward’s remarks, comments and insights about the 2012 elections were well received and appreciated by the DVC alumni participants. This program is the first in a series of DVCs the U.S. embassy plans to organize which will focus on the American elections in general, and political campaigns for federal, state, and local offices in particular.
