Consular Section

Welcome to the Consular Section at the U.S. Embassy in N’Djamena, Chad. Our mission is to serve U.S. citizens as well as the people living in Chad. These web pages are designed to help you learn more about our services. Our goal is to provide you with the information you need, whether you wish to register with the Embassy, obtain or renew a passport, report the overseas birth of your child or apply for a non-immigrant visa.
Public Inquiries
For non-emergency inquiries, the best and most efficient way to obtain information is through this website or by e-mail. Specific questions can be sent to consularndjame@state.gov.
Responses will be sent within two working days.
Consular Section Services and Hours
The Embassy provides the following services at the following times:
Routine American Citizen Services (passport applications, renewals, reports of birth abroad, notaries)
· Tuesdays/Thursdays, 8:30-12:30 and 14:00-15:00
· Fridays 8:30-11:00
Registration of US citizens
Monday through Friday, except Wednesday,
from 8:30 - 12:30, 14:00 - 16:00
Acceptance of non-immigrant visa applications
· Mondays, 8:30-12:00
Visa interviews (set up on Mondays)
· Wednesdays 9:30-11:30

Emergency services are available at any time by coming to or contacting the Embassy at (235) 51-62-11 or 51-90-52.

 

Holidays

 
The Embassy observes the following U.S. and Chadian holidays. When holidays fall on a Monday or Wednesday, visa services are offered the next day.
